Is this thick enough for a senior dog with joint pain?

Can the cover really go in the washing machine?

Yes. Unzip the full cover, toss it in your washing machine with cold water and mild detergent. Air dry or tumble dry on low. The foam core and waterproof liner stay inside — no need to remove or wash them separately.

Is this 100% waterproof?

The cover is water-repellent, not fully submersible. The inner waterproof liner protects the foam from spills, accidents, and ground moisture. It handles wet paws, rain, damp tent floors, and spilled bowls without issue. If you need something to fully submerge or power-wash, this isn't that — but for real-life dog messes, it's built to handle them.

Will this slide on my hardwood or tile floor?

At 43 × 27 inches, it fits most medium to large breeds — Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Boxers, and similar. Small dogs get plenty of room to stretch out. To check the fit, measure your dog from nose to tail in their natural sleeping position and compare to the open dimensions above.

Does it come with stakes for outdoor use?

The four corner anchor loops are built into the mat, but stakes are not included. Any standard tent stakes or ground anchors work with the loops to secure the mat on grass or dirt.
